Maintenance Instructions

Noren Products Compact Cabinet Coolers are designed to be easy to install, efficient to use and easily maintained. The fans that draw the air across the cores are the only moving parts.

Air-to-Air Models

Noren air-to-air Compact Cabinet Coolers have exposed fans and fins that may become dusty, dirty or clogged in some locations. Air-to-water units have no exposed fans and never require cleaning.

CLEANING:

If the unit is installed in a dirty environment:

Blow the dirt from fan and fins using compressed air. Consider using a filter kit to alleviate the build up in the future, filters are easily removed for quick cleaning

Filters kits come in disposable poly or washable aluminum

WITH THE PART NUMBER OF YOUR UNIT

If the unit is in a wet location and you have purchased a pressure tested wash down unit with a W and P in the part number, indicating a NEMA 4 model with washdown fans:

-use water and/or a soapy solution, up to 100psi, to remove the dirt and debris from fins and fans.

CHANGING OUT FANS ON ALL CABINET COOLERS:*

If fans fail or become noisy:

power off the unit

remove Cabinet Cooler from the enclosure

isolate the faulty fan and call Noren for a replacement

clip lead wires from fan and reinstall the new fan

properly reattach the Compact Cabinet Cooler and wiring, ensuring the gasket is well seated. If the gasket is damaged it must be replaced so that the seal has no gaps or leaks. This is vital on "P" pressure tested units

Air-to-Water Model

Noren air-to-water Compact cabinet coolers have no exposed fans or filter to get dirty or clogged therefore maintenance is limited. However, they do require winterizing in freezing conditions if the unit will not be operating.

CHANGING OUT FANS: see above

WINTERIZING UNITS:

-Water units that are subjected to freezing conditions must be winterized. By winterizing the unit you will eliminate the core from freezing and bursting due to ice buildup. We recommend a T-Fitting to be plumbed in at installation. Use the T-Fitting alone or with a valve below it. Blow compressed air into the T-Fitting (with valve closed) to force air though the core and purge all residual water from unit.

NOTES:

- Any model that is installed outdoors or in a wash down area must have a "P" designation on the part number.

- Compact Cabinet Coolers do not contain Freon

- Compact Cabinet Coolers are ROHS compliant.
